At 8:46 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a radio call for theft from automobiles in the area of the 700 block of South Front Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Upon arrival, they discovered front driver-side windows from five Hondas and one Acura broken, with the vehicles’ air bags missing.
Canvassing the environs, they found similar scenes on the 300 block of Monroe Street, with a damaged Acura and Honda; the 400 block of Fitzwater Street, with seven compromised Hondas; the 700 block of Christian Street, with three altered Hondas; and the 300 block of Catharine Street, where an Acura and a Honda swelled the count to 20 automobiles.
