A robbery pattern links nine cases where victims were trailed from gambling sites to various parts of the city.

The robberies, which span North, Northeast Philly and South Philly, occurred between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 7, 2011 and Sept. 18, ’12, according to police. Two to three men are believed to have followed their intended targets from Bensalem’s Parx and Fishtown’s SugarHouse casinos and robbed them of a total of $48,000 by force or point of gun or taser.

At 1:30 a.m. Sept. 12, a 35-year-old man parked his car on the 2600 block of South Lawrence Street upon returning home from SugarHouse, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As the man got out of his vehicle, two unknown men hit his right elbow with a brick, causing him to fall to the ground and scrape his knee.

The men robbed him of $10,000, which the man won playing cards at the casino, and his car keys before fleeing eastbound on Shunk Street, Tolliver said.

The victim believed he previously saw the men inside the casino as he was collecting his profits, Tolliver said. However, video surveillance did not show the man being followed from the gambling site.

From the recovered surveillance video, police deemed a gray auto with a black bumper and a silver car as vehicles of interest while a man wearing a dark-colored Nike T-shirt was deemed a person of interest.

The offenders were described as black, with one being age 25 to 30, 5-foot-10 and wearing a white T-shirt and the other being age 20 to 25 and tall.

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the duo.

A 32-year-old man returning home from SugarHouse at 3:40 a.m. June 22 via a cab also is believed to have been followed, according to police. Two men punched and kicked him on the 1500 block of Dickinson Street and then swiped his jacket, which contained $500. The pair fled south on Hicks Street.

The men were described as black, age 25 to 30, 6 foot; having a medium build; and wearing a gray T-shirt and jeans.
