A Northeast man was kidnapped, tortured and robbed before his attackers released him on a South of South street in order to return to his neighborhood to burglarize his home.

After parking his car, the 28-year-old began walking toward his home on the 5100 block of Walker Street in Northeast Philly when a silver SUV struck him from behind, knocking him to the ground at 12:45 a.m. Friday, Sgt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detective Division said. Two men exited the vehicle and placed him in the back.

The duo handcuffed him and assaulted him, stabbing him once in the leg, Rosenbaum said. The pair also swiped his wallet, which contained $800, as well as his house and car keys. They inquired if he had more cash at his residence, so he told him that he had a safe, but not to hurt his 21-year-old girlfriend.

They dropped off the cuffed man, who also was bounded in duct tape, on the 700 block of South 24th Street, Rosenbaum said.

Two unknown armed men walked into the man’s house and handcuffed his girlfriend prior to stealing a safe that contained $3,000 from a closet at 4:20 a.m. The two fled the home in an unknown direction.

Police responded to South of South at 5:30 a.m. for a report of a person screaming and transported the victim to Aria Health Frankford Hospital for the treatment of scrapes and a stab wound.

The suspects were described as black, 6 foot, muscular and wearing all black clothing. It is believed there may have been two to three more men involved.
