Painful behavior

An unknown teen jumped a senior, who suffered a bone fracture as a result of the Friday evening mugging in Newbold/Point Breeze.

The 78-year-old was walking on the 1500 block of Tasker Street at 6:30 p.m. when the teen came up behind him and tossed him to the sidewalk, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The boy then punched him in the face, snatched $80 from the man and fled in an unknown direction.

The man went to HUP, but left before being treated, Tolliver said. However, he didn’t report the robbery until Saturday when he returned to the hospital as the pain became unbearable. He was admitted and treated for a fractured femur.

The thief was described as black, age 16 to 18, 5-foot-11 and wearing a white T-shirt and dark jeans.
