Two men were robbed of their belongings in Passyunk Square last week. When one of the offenders encountered another man, he used his bicycle to flee.

At 1:35 a.m. Aug. 8, a 24- and 25-year-old man headed east on the 700 block of Dickinson Street when a man put his arm around the younger male’s neck, holding his arms, as another man took $55 from his pockets, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The first man slammed the victim to the ground, which caused cuts to the back of his head and right elbow, and then knocked down, punched and kicked the older male, which resulted in facial swelling and a knee scrape, as his accomplice swiped a wallet containing $25.

A third offender approached a 22-year-old on a bicycle at Dickinson and Franklin streets and said, “What’s up?” Tolliver said. The victim placed his bike on the ground and used his chain lock to protect himself. The man was unharmed as the perpetrator only picked up his bike and rode away. He ran away upon seeing the altercation among the others.

The remaining offenders fled on foot north on Seventh Street, Tolliver said.

A medic transported the 25-year-old to Pennsylvania Hospital, Tolliver said.
