A teen threatened a youngster’s life in order to obtain the boy’s bicycle Monday morning in Grays Ferry.

The 9-year-old was riding his dark and light blue Mongoose mountain bike on the 1500 block of South Bambrey Street when an adolescent approached him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The teen said, “I will kill you if you don’t give up the bike” and pushed him to the ground before pedaling south on 25th Street.

The boy had some pain in his right elbow, but did not seek medical treatment, Tolliver said.

The thief was described as black with a dark complexion, age 15, 5-foot-4, thin; having a light mustache and short hair; and wearing a Red Sox jersey and black jeans.
