Disrupted dozing

A woman was sleeping on the couch in her Lower Moyamensing home when she opened the door to two potential burglars last week.

The 57-year-old was fast asleep on her living room sofa when she heard some clatter at her front door at 5:33 a.m. May 23 on the 1200 block of Shunk Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When she opened the door, a masked duo forced its way inside. Armed with a thin, black gun, one man pushed her to the couch while the other headed upstairs.

A 24-year-old male relative then entered the home, so the first offender yelled for his accomplice and the two fled out the front door, Tolliver said.

The gunman was described as black, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, having a stocky build and wearing a black hoodie and a rubber mask. The other was described as black, 5-foot-10 and wearing a black hoodie and a rubber mask.
