Some of the arrestees from an illegal function at a Whitman Mummers club had their day in court last month.

""Alfred Sanborn, 45, of the 2400 block of South Third Street, and John Murray, 56, of Deptford, N.J., allegedly tended bar Oct. 11 at a monthly gathering at the Downtowners Clubhouse, 148-50 Snyder Ave., that included beer, hoagies and sexual favors costing $30 to $100, according to police. The two were the club’s respective steward and financial secretary.

Sanborn steward pled no contest to unlawful sales of liquor and conspiracy Tuesday. He must complete the Accelerated Misdemeanor Program, a cost-saving mechanism that keeps misdemeanor cases from clogging the system and includes community service, according to court records.

""Murray was sentenced to one year in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, a course for first-time, non-violent offenders, and community service for the same charges Jan. 25.

The charges for four of the 10 alleged prostitutes that pleasured the attendees were withdrawn following the completion of the misdemeanor program, according to court records. Sherry Davidson, 41, of Northeast Philly, rejected the program and was found guilty of promoting prostitution, conspiracy and criminal solicitation Jan. 25 and will serve up to six months on probation. Jennifer Quenderfield, 36, of Conshohocken, was found guilty of the same charges Nov. 22 and placed in the program. She has served probation for three previous promoting prostitution charges. Virginia Ruiz, 47, of Bear, Del., was found guilty of promoting prostitution Jan. 11, but received no further penalty.

Judith Jacobs, 37, of Sicklerville, N.J., did not appear for her Nov. 1 arraignment. There is a bench warrant out for her arrest. Regina Mahoney, 26, of Northeast Philly, and Michelle Laubner, 32, of Fishtown, will face trial Feb. 10 and April 23, respectively.

Lawrence F. Crovetti, 65, of Feasterville, who is believed to have organized the monthly endeavors, will appear in court Friday for a scheduling conference. He has been charged with promoting prostitution, conspiracy and unlawful sales of liquor.
