An open letter to Mayor Michael Nuttter:
The Ss. Neumann-Goretti boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have won [Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association] state championships. In addition these two teams have become a dynasty. The school band, the students, parents and the South Philly community came out for this. The Neumann-Gorettti girls were [ranked as] the best basketball team in the country.
If the City can give the Taney Dragons a parade for going to the Little League World Series but not winning it, then they can give a parade for a true champion.
