As an actress, a burlesque artist and a choreographer, Christine Fisler makes every endeavor not only a reflection of her passion for creativity but also a display of appreciation for loved ones’ support. Backers of the beauty affirmed their affinity for her efforts, voting the resident of the 1700 block of South 13th Street South Philly’s top performer.

“I’ve been blessed to have had great friends and family members who believe in what I do,” the 33-year-old said. “It’s nice to have recognition because it’s very dear to me to inspire people to overcome any struggles they might have in believing in themselves.”

The East Passyunk Crossing dweller has garnered an ample following by working with The Cabaret Administration, for whom she serves as “The Minister of Choreography,” and other dance duties. Attentive to crafting numbers with narrative sway and offering characters with conviction, such as author Mary Shelley, whom in May she will portray for a second time, Fisler finds her niche is never settling for a safe or simple project.

“The older we become, the harder we need to work to remain sharp,” the presence, often billed as “Lelu Lenore,” said of preserving self-structured and fan-forged standards of excellence, which she also promotes as a University of the Arts instructor. “We have to understand the depth of what we love to do and be honest with ourselves in determining how far we think we can take our skills.”

Fisler, whose evaluation of her tenacity has yielded enthusiasm for directing, has plotted an extremely busy spring schedule that includes late May’s inaugural Philadelphia Burlesque Festival. Enthused that her performances have led many to tab her a muse, she aspires to continue to motivate and lead others to the limelight.

“I’m touched to have this honor,” she said. “I value that others love what I do.”

Singer Felicia Punzo hit the high notes in second place, with disc jockey Jerry Blavat spinning a third-place finish.
