A man robbed a woman in Girard Estate after trying to peddle electronics to her.
As the complainant approached her car in the parking lot of Home Depot, 2200 W. Oregon Ave., at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 8, a male asked if she would like to buy electronics from her, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Declining his offer, she walked away but he ran up to her, shoved her against her car and grabbed approximately $300 from her hand.
Running to a red SUV, he drove off, only to have the victim and a witness give chase. They eventually lost his vehicle in the area of 16th and Tasker streets. They described the at-large man as black, 40 to 50 years old and 5-foot-8; having a salt and pepper beard and a medium build; and wearing a big brown coat.
