Car issues led to a robbery in South of South.

At 12:07 a.m. Dec. 15, the complainant pulled his car over on the 700 block of South 17th Street and remained there for 10 minutes when a black Honda Civic came up beside him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The front-seat passenger asked about the parked car, with the motorist saying he had run out of gas.

The inquirer stated he and his two companions could offer help, leading the man to exit his automobile. He then grabbed the man by his shirt, punched him in the face and demanded “Give me your money,” Tolliver said.

A second man punched the other side of his face, with the primary aggressor taking $355 from his pants pocket. The men returned to the Honda, and their driver friend fled southbound on 17th Street. The complainant, who suffered undisclosed injuries, described the first man as black, 6-foot-2 and 25 to 35 years old; having a dark complexion; and wearing a black skully, a dark jacket and dark pants and the second as black, 5-foot-9 and 25 to 35 years old; having a dark complexion; and dressed the same way. A detailed description of the third at-large figure was not available as of press time.
