A quartet of males tried to rob three individuals in West Passyunk last week.

At 1 a.m., the complainants were on the 2000 block of South 22nd Street walking northbound to catch a bus when four men exited a black car that stopped in front of the street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The masked figures told them to put their hands up and remove everything from their bags.

When the would-be thieves realized their prey had nothing of value, they ordered the complainants to lie down on the ground, inspecting their pants pockets yet also not finding anything noteworthy, Tolliver said. The offenders returned to their automobile, which the victims described as an older black model with a square-shaped body and a silver design or scratch on the door, and headed northbound on 22nd Street toward Moore Street.

They described the first as black, 5-foot-11; having a thin build; and wearing black Nike shorts and shoes and a white Polo V-neck T-shirt; the second as black, 5-foot-8; having a medium build; and wearing blue cargo shorts, a white Polo V-neck T-shirt, blue Converse shoes and high socks; the third as black, 6 foot; and having a thin build; and the final one as white, 5-foot-8; and having a medium build.
