Nonsense in Newbold

Late Friday night and early Saturday morning began poorly for a woman in Newbold, with as many as four offenders confronting and injuring her.

The female told authorities, who met her at Methodist Hospital, 2301 S. Broad St., at midnight that at 11:40 p.m. she had been walking westbound on 18th Street and Snyder Avenue when the unknown figures approached her, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. One produced a box cutter and barked obscenities at her, with all of the individuals assaulting her.

The ensuing struggle left her with a cut on her lip, with a friend transporting her to the health facility, Tolliver said, where she received 15 stitches to close the wound. The victim could state only that her attackers were three or four black females.
