An aggressive purse pursuer left a woman injured last week in Grays Ferry.

Walking up the steps of a home on the 3600 block of Earp Street at 8:43 a.m. Nov. 7, the complainant fell to the ground after a rear-approaching man snatched her pocketbook, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The victim last observed him heading westbound on Earp Street then northbound on Schuylkill Avenue.

Hearing her screams, a neighbor attempted to chase the unknown figure but lost sight of him on his northbound run, Tolliver said. The complainant, who lost her driver’s license, an ATM card, $75, credit cards, car and house keys in the attack, received transport to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she had her left arm, hip and shoulder examined. She described the aggressor as black, 6 foot; having a thin build; and wearing a dark brown tan jacket, blue jeans and a blue skullcap.
