A woman was raped in the back of a car in Fairmount and then dropped off at a Bella Vista intersection Saturday evening.
A 24-year-old woman hopped into a white sedan that she thought was a taxi at 6:30 p.m. on the 2200 block of Spring Garden Street, however, there was a man already in the backseat, according to police. That man assaulted her and took $41 before pushing the victim out of the vehicle at 10th and Catharine streets.
The man in the backseat was described as black with a dark complexion, in his mid-20s, thin, having short hair and an unshaven face and wearing jeans. A detailed description of the driver was not available at press time.
