A Grays Ferry woman assaulted her mother who had just come home from dialysis treatment Sunday evening.

Brittney White, 24, began arguing with her 49-year-old mother when she came home to their residence on the 1700 block of South 32nd Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. She allegedly screamed at her parent, flipped the TV over, broke a lamp and pushed her mother down. The woman’s 42-year-old home health aide stepped in to stop the assault when White is believed to have sprayed him with dog repellent. Her mother retrieved the repellent and sprayed White in defense.

Police arrested White and charged her with two counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person and one count of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and possession of an instrument of a crime, according to court records. Her bail, which she had not posted as of press time, was set at $4,500.
