A punch outside a sports complex bar knocked a man’s teeth out of alignment and may have broken his jaw early Sunday.

A 29-year-old was waiting for his friend to exit Xfinity Live!, 1100 Pattison Ave., at 1:40 a.m. when an unknown man strongly bumped his shoulder, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The 29-year-old said, “Yo buddy, you didn’t have to bump me like that” and turned around. The other man responded, “What you say?” to which the man repeated himself. The unknown man then walked up to the 29-year-old and punched him on the left side of his jaw, knocking him to the ground.

A medic transported the injured man to HUP for treatment of his possibly broken jaw, Tolliver said. It was unknown if he needed surgery at press time.

The suspect was described as white, age 27, 5-foot-9, 160 to 170 pounds and having a light-colored beard.
