A robber wounded a teen with whom he struggled while trying to steal his cell phone.

The 26-year-old was on the 1600 block of South Seventh Street at 6:28 a.m. yesterday when an unknown teen demanded his phone at gunpoint, Officer Jill Russell of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. When the victim resisted, the offender’s firearm discharged striking the 26-year-old in the shoulder. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

The perpetrator who fled with the phone was described as black with a medium complexion, age 16 to 18, thin, 160 pounds, clean-shaven and wearing tan pants and a tank top.
