A fight ended in Grays Ferry with one man needing 30 stitches to close a wound on his abdomen Saturday.
A 19- and 22-year-old were walking near 29th and Tasker streets at 1:30 a.m. when a group of six unknown teens approached them, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The males started to assault the teen, so his friend tried to break it up when one of the offenders sliced his stomach with an unknown object before the group fled southbound on 29th Street.
A private auto transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was treated, Tolliver said.
A detailed description of the offenders was not available at press time.
