A woman was mugged at knifepoint in Lower Moyamensing on Christmas Day.
The 70-year-old was walking along the 2400 block of South Clarion Street at 2:30 p.m. when an unknown man approached her from behind and said, “Give me your … purse or I’ll stab you,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When she turned, she saw he had a silver knife, so she passed him her black purse, which contained her ID, credit cards and $50.
The offender, who was described as white, age 20 to 25, 6 foot, 170 pounds and wearing a black coat and mask, fled east on Ritner Street and north on 13th Street, Tolliver said.
