ALL-CITY CLASSIC

The Rasual Butler All-City Classic begins 5:15 p.m. June 4 at Community College of Philadelphia, 17th and Spring Garden streets. The action tips off with a game featuring the area’s top freshmen high school basketball players, followed by sophomore and junior contests. Tickets are $10 at the door. Rogers "The Tiger" Mtagwa, of the 1800 block of South Taylor Street, improved his ring record to 28-12-2 following Friday night’s unanimous decision over Ricardo Medina at the Legendary Blue Horizon.
Saturday, South Philadelphia’s Simon "One Punch" Carr fell short in his pursuit of the World Boxing Foundation cruiserweight crown, as champion Andres Taylor delivered a seventh-round knockout. The local pugilist fell to 5-4-1.
