Two teens, who tied up and robbed a Pennsport family, were arrested as they left the apartment building.

A 12-year-old boy opened the door to his family’s apartment on the 2000 block of South Fourth Street at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Isaiah Hall, 19, of West Philly is believed to have mentioned something about coupons and pulled a handgun from a bag. He and Devin Torres, 19, of the Northeast, allegedly entered the home and Hall is believed to have said, “if you cooperate, we will not shoot you” to the boy and his 8-year-old brother before tying them up in the living room.

A 56-year-old woman walked downstairs and was allegedly greeted by Hall’s gun, Tolliver said. As Torres allegedly tried to tape her mouth shut, he struck her in the head and arms. She screamed causing three more family members to enter the room.

Items including a black wallet with identification and a black HP Pavilion laptop were stolen, Tolliver said.

Surveillance video showed the duo leaving and returning to the building, Tolliver said. SWAT was notified, but the pair exited the building prior to its arrival, so police arrested them behind the building. Both were charged with multiple counts of burglary, robbery, theft, aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, firearm violations and related offenses.

The stolen items were recovered inside the building.
