A man who successfully robbed a Packer Park bank in May tried to repeat his success last week to no avail and is being sought by the FBI.

On Oct. 14, a man entered the United Savings Branch, 1510 Packer Ave., with a brown paper bag and told a teller the bag contained a device, FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver said. However, the man fled before obtaining any cash.

The bag with a hoax device inside was located outside the bank along with a tan and blue baseball cap that the suspect was wearing that had “Buckeye Partners” printed on it, Klaver said.

On May 25, that same man successfully robbed the bank in the same manner only he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bag containing a hoax device on the counter, Klaver said.

The suspect was described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with a thin build.
