A Point Breeze dollar store employee was robbed at gunpoint on his way to make a bank deposit for the store Monday.

The 53-year-old man headed to the bank from Family Dollar, 1325 Point Breeze Ave., when two men pushed him to the 2100 block of Earp Street and demanded his belongings, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. One of the men, who claimed to have a gun, said, “don’t look at me,” as he rummaged through the employee’s pockets. The man was unharmed, however, six bags containing $5,031 plus the man’s wallet that contained $220 and his keys were stolen.

The suspects, who were described as black — one with a light complexion, one with a dark complexion, age mid- to late-20s, 5-foot-11 with a medium build and wearing blue jeans, fled in an unknown direction.
