A man was shot in the face and leg outside a Grays Ferry bar although the victim was not part of the altercation.

The 39-year-old was outside Shirlrick’s Bar, Mifflin Street and Point Breeze Avenue, at 1:46 a.m. Sunday when a group of women began fighting in front of the establishment, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. A few minutes in, an unknown man fired a gun. The victim realized he had been shot in the face and right leg and was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition by a private vehicle.

Police located blood, ballistics and physical evidence at the scene, but did not provide a description of the shooter.
