A man indicated via telephone that a specific SEPTA bus running along Oregon Avenue contained an explosive device last week.

Police K-9 and Bomb Squad units responded to the 1000 block of Oregon Avenue where the G bus had pulled over after an unknown man called a SEPTA service manager at 8:17 p.m. Jan. 27 alerting the employee that there was a bomb on the No. 8012 Route G bus, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The driver and passengers were escorted away from the vehicle and police did a sweep of the bus, which was then declared safe.
