A 17th District officer was arrested for a retail theft in the Northeast, police announced Friday.

Officer Nicholas Adelizzi was arrested and charged Jan. 21 for a retail theft that allegedly occurred Jan. 10 at a Northeast nutrition store. He allegedly stole a $25 bottle of CoQ10, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The 24-year-old was on duty, but not in uniform during the alleged crime. He was transferred from the Upland Borough Police Department to the 17th District and will be rejected for permanent employment in Philadelphia, according to the Police Public Affairs Unit.
