A senior citizen was robbed after withdrawing money from a West Passyunk bank.

The 68-year-old exited Wachovia Bank, 2300 Snyder Ave., at 9:15 a.m. Feb. 3 after taking funds from his account when an unknown man made an effort to swipe his withdrawal envelopes, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man, carrying two envelopes containing $900 combined, struggled with the thief to obtain a hold on the cash. The robber eventually pried the packets from the man and fled south on South 23rd Street.

The thief was described as black with a dark complexion, age 20 to 30, 5-foot-6, 160 pounds and wearing a black jacket, black pants and black boots.
