CYO BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS

The Catholic Youth Organization Region 6 playoffs are taking place this week. The boys’ championship game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Neumann-Goretti, 1736 S. 10th St. The winners from last night’s semifinal action, which started after press time, have advanced. The girls’ semifinals are scheduled for tonight at St. Monica, 17th an Ritner streets. The final is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday.

DEFELICE TO BE HONORED

Edward Bok Tech football coach Tom DeFelice has been named the recipient of the Robert T. Clark Award for his lifetime contributions to high school football. The honor is one of many that will be handed out at the March 4 Maxwell Club National Awards dinner March 4 in Atlantic City. DeFelice, who announced his retirement earlier this school year, has spent 43 years at Eighth Mifflin streets, including 18 as the Wildcats head football coach. He is departing with an 129-50-1 record, which includes three-straight Public League Class AA titles and an .828 winning percentage in Philadelphia Public League play.

D.V.Y.A.A. SPRING BASEBALL

Delaware Valley Youth Athletic Association is accepting registrations for its spring baseball season 6:30 to 8 p.m. weeknights and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets.
