Prep Charter grads Marcus and Markieff Morris have decided to forgo their senior seasons at the University of Kansas and enter the 2011 NBA Draft. As high schoolers, the siblings helped the Huskies win back-to-back Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class AA state championships in 2006 and ’07 under coach Dan Brinkley.
This season, Marcus was a second-team All-American while Markieff was an honorable mention All-American.
“This decision was tugging at both our hearts,” Markieff said in a story posted on the University of Kansas athletics website. “Coach [Bill] Self thinks this is a good time and we feel this is the best for us and for our family. I would like to thank the fans for their support over the past years.”
