A senior allowed a duo into his Newbold home because he thought they were his medical workers, but in actuality, they were there to rob him Monday morning.

An unknown man and woman knocked on the 85-year-old’s door, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Since he thought they were his medical helpers, he invited them in at 8 a.m.

Inside the home on the 2200 block of South Carlisle Street, the woman rummaged through the man’s pockets and said she needed cash to get to New Jersey while the man disconnected the resident’s home phone, Tolliver said. The two fled in an unknown direction with $100, but did not harm the man.

The woman was described as black, age 30, 5-foot-6, having a medium build and wearing a purple dress while the man was described as black, age 20, 5-foot-7, thin and wearing a white T-shirt.
