A cabbie pulled over in Point Breeze to kick out his fighting passengers, who, in turn, robbed the driver at gunpoint early Sunday.

At 22nd and Lombard streets, the 59-year-old taxi driver picked up two customers, who asked to be taken to 23rd and Reed streets, at 1:35 a.m. En route to their destination, the pair of men began arguing, so the cabbie pulled over near 24th Street and Washington Avenue — a mere five blocks from their objective — and directed the duo to depart his vehicle, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

After one of the men stepped out of the automobile, he pointed a firearm at the driver’s head and said, “just give me the money,” Tolliver said The cabbie handed over $375 and was not harmed.

The twosome, for whom the police did not provide a detailed description of by press time, ran south on 23rd, Tolliver said.
