A man held up a Grays Ferry electronic store and ran off with various cell phones.

A 20-year-old employee at Radio Shack, 2891 Grays Ferry Ave., opened the store at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 2 before heading to the back room, Detective Tamika Selden of South Detective Division said. While there, a man approached her, pulled a black handgun from his backpack and demanded iPhones and cash. The employee handed cell phones from the supply room to the offender, who then tried to lock up the victim. When she resisted, he sprayed her with an unknown chemical substance before fleeing westbound across the parking lot.

The thief was described as black, in his mid-20s or early-30s, 6 foot to 6-foot-3, 220 pounds; having a small, trimmed mustache and beard; and wearing an oversized khaki jacket, blue jeans, a black cap, black sunglasses and a red, black and gray child’s backpack.
